Beverage Ranking Privacy Policy

Beverage Ranking (飲評趣, the “App”) is an Android application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, why it is processed, where it is stored, and how you can manage your data.

1. Information We Process

The App may process the following information:

• Shops, drinks, branches, ratings, sweetness level, ice level, toppings, prices, notes, tags, rankings, hidden preset preferences, and related records that you create or enter in the App.
• Google account information provided by Google when you sign in, such as account ID, email address, display name, and profile photo (loaded from Google when shown in the App).
• Advertising-related data. The free version uses Google AdMob. Google may process device information, advertising ID, ad interactions, and diagnostic data according to its own policies.
• In-app purchase-related data. The remove-ads feature uses Google Play Billing to process purchase, refund, and purchase restoration status.
• App preferences stored locally on your device, such as whether the app guide has been completed, theme mode, cloud sync timestamps, cached remove-ads status, and interstitial ad cooldown timestamps.

The App does not integrate separate analytics or crash-reporting SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics) to send your rating data to the developer.

2. How We Use Information

The App uses information to:

• Provide personal drink and shop rating, ranking, search, sharing, export, import, and restore features.
• Sync App backup data to your Google Drive app data folder after you authorize Google Sign-In.
• Display ads, manage ad display behavior, and confirm whether you have purchased remove-ads.
• Open your system email app for feedback with a pre-filled app name and version when you choose to contact support.
• Maintain App functionality and improve the user experience.

3. Data Storage and Sync

Your rating and list data is primarily stored in a local database on your device.

If you choose to use Google Sign-In and cloud backup, the App stores a backup JSON file in your own Google Drive appDataFolder. This folder is provided by Google for the App and does not appear in the normal “My Drive” file list. The App requests Google Sign-In scopes for your email address and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata only, to back up and restore App data. It does not read, browse, or modify other files in your Google Drive.

Remove-ads purchase status is cached locally and is not included in Drive backup files.

You may export or import backup JSON through the App settings or system share. Importing a backup overwrites all current App data on your device.

The App does not operate its own backend server to centrally store your rating data. We do not retain copies of your rating content on developer-operated servers.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Their data processing is governed by their respective policies:

• Google Sign-In: account sign-in.
• Google Drive API: backup storage in your Google Drive app data folder.
• Google AdMob: ads in the free version.
• Google Play Billing: remove-ads purchase and restoration.
• Google Fonts (via the google_fonts package): the App may download font files from Google when needed for display; this requires a network connection.
• LINE (when you choose LINE sharing): ranking text you share may be sent through the LINE app, LINE web, or your device’s system share sheet.
• System share, file picker, and email apps: when you export, import, share rankings, or send feedback.

5. Location Data

The App does not request device location permission or process location data.

6. Advertising and In-App Purchases

The free version may show:

• A banner ad on the main home screen.
• Full-screen interstitial ads when you open the shop ranking tab or after successfully adding a drink rating entry, subject to a shared cooldown period.
• A short full-screen placeholder when an interstitial ad has not finished loading.

Ads are not shown on rating forms, editing screens, the app guide, share/export/sync flows, or after you have purchased remove-ads.

Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may use device information and advertising ID to provide, limit, or measure ads. Users in some regions may see ad consent or personalization choices managed by Google under its policies.

If you purchase remove-ads through Google Play, the App queries Google Play Billing for purchase status and caches the result locally. Purchase processing, payment, refunds, and billing information are managed by Google Play. The App does not receive your full payment card or bank details. You do not need to sign in with Google to purchase remove-ads. Signing out of Google does not remove your remove-ads status. When online, the App updates remove-ads status from Google Play (including after refunds).

7. Data Sharing

Except for the third-party services described in this policy, the App does not sell your personal information and does not provide your rating data to a developer-operated backend service.

When you actively use sharing, export, import, feedback email, or system share features, the content or files you choose are handled by the app or service you select (for example, LINE, email, or cloud storage apps you pick).

8. Data Deletion and Management

You can manage your data in the following ways:

• Clear all rating records or remove individual records inside the App.
• Uninstall the App to delete local data from your device.
• Sign out of your Google account inside the App to stop future Google Drive sync.
• Manage the App’s Google authorization and backup data through your Google account settings.
• Delete or replace cloud backup data through Google account or Drive app-data settings, where available.
• If you purchased remove-ads, restore the purchase through your Google Play account. Refunds and payment disputes are handled according to Google Play policies.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed primarily at children. If you are a minor, please use the App with the consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy due to changes in features, laws, regulations, or third-party service policies. Updated versions will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
